This set of headphones has honestly lasted my son who by the way burns through headphones sets a few years. I found this on a lightning deal so I am re-purchasing a pair for him for Christmas. The only issue that we have had with these is the wear and tear. I really can’t complain because of the amount of hours that this kid has used them over the past few years and he is constantly moving them on and off of his head.. The fabric is now starting to peel where head band rubs against his head and padding to ears however they still work perfectly The noise canceling feature of these earphones work very well from what my son has told me.I would definitely recommend these for anyone who has a teenager who burns through headset like my son you are getting a decent quality headset for a good price. These headphones themselves are what could only be described as sub-par. I've had two pairs of these, one in blue, which I accidentally ordered in the wrong color, and one in red. The ones in blue worked fine, for the limited duration I used them (which was only a few days) and I primarily use the red ones. The headset, for one, has a mic that I find very annoying, for two main reasons:1. The mic is purely plastic and non-adjustable. The quality is decent, but good luck trying to move it further away from your mouth (spoiler alert: you can't).2. Pretty sure my headset is defective, as the mic is always at 50 degree angle and the mic is always very loose, especially when being moved away from my face. Now, the mic naturally falls down to a 50 degree angle instead of 90, resulting in it always being in the corner of my eye whenever I have them on. If I try to move it back up, the mic simply falls back down to where it stops at about 50 degrees. For some reason it gets loose at the top, preventing it from staying completely up for me.Aside from the problems I had with the mic, I also had a few issues with the headset that really turned me off, one being that the LED's don't turn off when I put my PC to sleep. This is incredibly annoying, as I would have to reach behind my tower every time I wanted to turn the LED's off, and then back on again. This would be extremely tedious, and resulted in me not using the LED's at all.The headset also gives me major headphone hair. I don't know if this is consistent with others, and I usually don't see this in many other reviews on headsets, but these headphones are CLINGY. This is good, from a certain perspective, as they seldom fall off accidentally. However, due to this, the headphone cups and the strap on the top make indents in my hair resulting in having to wet it or wash it to bring it back to normal. Due to this, I have embarrassingly obvious headphone hair after a mere 30 minutes of use. If I plan on going out later and want to use the headphones temporarily, I have to position them and hold them up behind my head for the ear cups to be near my ears but the strap and cups themselves not touching my hair.Sound quality is okay, nothing to marvel about, though. No surround sound, so there really isn't anything immersive about the audio experience. I also notice that this headset, among others, follow a similar template for their headphones, and you can see what I mean by looking at the related products or by just searching "gaming headset". There really isn't anything that attracts the eye, and the headphones aren't very aesthetically pleasing. The build doesn't seem very high-quality, either; the inside of the ear cups are just mesh with a thin red cloth underneath, and make the headphones look tacky. The cord, as well, is braided and sturdy, I guess, but tends to bend and tangle. The volume control on the cord is big, bulky, and annoying, and also is a clear example of how this headset is a copy-paste version of many other budget headsets on Amazon with different features. Many headsets on Amazon, like this one, possess the bulky volume control with the manufacturer's logo on the side. It's not even necessary, as the volume wheel takes up less than half of the volume control in itself. Since it's so big, it often weighs down the headphones and acts like an obstacle half the time. Extremely annoying. Conclusion: I can't really say anything too positive about this headset aside that the mic quality is decent. I've used Skype Echo to hear myself using these, and I sound okay. However, most of the aspects of the headset just don't flow very well, and the mic is the only thing it has going for it. I've even seen reviews saying the mic is bad, so hey, maybe I'm wrong, but man is this thing not worth the buy. The LED's don't automatically turn off, the headset itself looks tacky, the earcups and strap give me headphone hair, the volume control is obnoxiously large, and the mic is loose and constantly hangs right next to my face. Here's a tip: save up some money. Buy some good quality headphones with a bigger price tag. You'll get better sound and mic quality, with headsets that actually differ from one another and possess their own unique aesthetics. It'll be worth it. Budget headphones on Amazon are just... bad. The VersionTech G2000's are no exception.TL;DR: Buy more expensive headphones instead.Well, let me start by saying its a good product, the LEDs are bright but not blinding, they don't distract from gaming, fact the only ones who can see them are the other people in the room or if your looking into a mirror. The head set is a bit on the big and bulky side but i believe that's the style these days and if you drop them you get that satisfaction of knowing they can take a fall, that being said tho the plastic feels soft but is strong on the sides and it looks very nice. The mic only moves up and down does not bend however it is very sensitive and picks up your voice well and i'm told sounds clearer than my old Logitech headset, you do not notice the blue LED at the end of it well gaming, meaning its not distracting. The sound is clear thru the speakers and i feel is comparable to Turtle beach or Logitech. This is met only for PC due to the fact that you use the USB for the lights, a green for sound and a red for mic also the controller is a bit big but is easy to find in dark and the volume knob is sensitive and easy to use. My only complains are the cord could be longer (however they do sell USB adapters for more length) and there's no software or box it comes in, also the fact that it comes from Hong Kong China which upon purchasing i was not made aware of and had to wait 26 days before i received the item, but was around christmas so i understand delay, but that being said it is coming directly from the manufacturer so you get that limited hands touch feeling sort a speak. i would recommend buying the faster shipping or waiting awhile if your in USA and expect a plastic bag not a fancy box but a well wrapped plastic bag. I would recommend this to my friends if there looking for a inexpensive decent headset and like a little flare to match there blue LED fans or other accessories and looking for a good mic and good stereo sound headset. Also the noise canceling aspect could be a little better but works decently for the price but if your gaming with a friend in another room you might still hear a little echo from them if they have a loud voice or yell. Also software that could dim the lights or a knob wouldn't be a bad idea just for certain occasions and if there a new to how PCs work instructions could come in handy my windows 7 didn't even detect the new hardware or install a generic driver but my sound card had inputs so it all worked out. Anyhow good product i like it id recommend it to others but not quite love it, the price was nice to and free shipping was awsome. just a few kinks to loving it.The light up option is connected via USB and the cable is shorter than short, so you can play or have it light up, but not both at the same time.He says they're super comfy on the ears and the volume and sound are amazing.my son use it for play games and lessen muisic she love itThe sound quality was pretty good, however the headset was overall too big. Especially the ear muffs. For me there was a massive gap on the back and bottom of the ear pieces. Mind you, I have a pretty small head, however my boyfriend tried them on and he had a similar issue. They are good for their price, but I will personally be returning due to discomfort.I purchased this (On Sale $39.99) so I can play Xbox without disturbing my boyfriend at night so he can sleep. My previous headset mic was picking up the voices coming through the headphones which were causing an issue. The headset is comfortable, I can wear it for hours and it doesn't compress my ears, or feel uncomfortable in any way. EDIT: My boyfriend has used it and he says they're not comfortable for long periods of time for him, but he's got bigger ears and sensitive skin, so YMMVSound is decent, my friends can hear me clearly through the mic and as far as I can tell, they don't hear many ambient sounds, they also don't hear themselves speak which is good. EDIT: If someone is speaking loud enough near you, it will pick it up, other than that no issues. Now to the bad stuff. This headset I believe is mainly targeted towards PC gamers who need longer cords for their headsets. The cord on this is crazy long for a console gamer. Not only is it long, the end that you plug in has 3 connections built into it, and because I'm using the headphone jack to my controller and not the usual audio/mic cables that you would plug into the computer, there is yet another connector that converts the audio & mic cables into the general headphone jack. This makes the cord even longer and fiddly with all the connections. As I am using it like this, I am not using the LED lights and the USB that you need to plugin for this effect is useless.Midway up the cord is the controller for volume and mute. This thing is way bigger than it needs to be, if it even needed it at all. I use the Xbox headset adapter which has all of these controls on it anyway. Any PC gamer would be able to control the same things either in-game or via their PC audio controls, so it's entirely not required. The plastic on the outside is very stiff, not an issue but it makes the mic arm very hard to move and when it does, it makes a really loud sound when you move it. Not the end of the world, but it makes it feel cheap and I worry that it might break. The mic seems very far away from your mouth, and cannot be bent towards your mouth just up and down. As I can only hear my teammates, I can't tell how much ambient sound the mic picks up, but this could be the cause of this is an issue with anyone else.In the end, I'm happy with my purchase. I wasn't looking for the absolute BEST in sound quality, just an affordable mic I can use that works well for communicating live in-game, and this does all of that. I do occasionally game on my PC and I suppose for the hassle of the long dangly bits on the cord, they will come in handy when I want to switch over.Edit: A year later and it's still working well. The ear cuffs haven't started peeling, the sound is still the same and the mic hasn't broken. However, I've had to replace the adapter that connects the 2 outputs into 1 to connect to my Xbox controller (or any other single jack) The one that came with the headset started cutting out my audio and voice chat if it got moved to the wrong spot. I bought a new one from another seller and it worked just as well. However, it's starting to sort of do the same thing. My one side audion will cut out, or sometimes my voice cuts out. I have to jostle the cables for them to work properly again.I have used it on PC since my first review, and this issue doesn't happen, so it must be with that "Y" connector. In the end I'm happy with the product, and even bought one for my brother for Christmas, however both times I purchased, they were on sale ($39.99) and I feel this is a reasonable price. I don't know if I'd want to pay 50$ as I see there are some others out there for the same price that might be better.UPDATE 2021 - Headset is still going strong. It's now exclusively for my PC as I got another headset for my Xbox. The new headset leaks sound to my fellow gamers so this headset still beats it in that regard. However, I've noticed (not sure why I didn't notice it before) this headset is pretty large. If I shake my head back and forth even a bit, it is in danger of flying off my head, the ear cups also don't compress to my head so there is sound leakage from that. For this reason, I'm once again looking for another headset. The last Y adapter I bought still works fine and is being used with the other headset I bought, so it might have just been an issue with the one they sent me.My kids are very happy with the product but it should have been made a little bit clearer in the description that this product is for computers only unless you buy an adapter so that it can be used with the Xbox. Overall, still happy with my purchase. My two sons each got a set of these as a gift. Within 6 months I had to buy them new sets for different problems. One the mic stopped working and the other the jack broke. Good thing it didn't break inside the electronic equipment. So I bought them new ones and made sure I bought the protection plan this time and in less than 4 months, one of them has already failed. The sound came through either in one ear or the other but rarely both and mic was intermittent. They look impressive but they don't seem to last. They have good padding on the head piece but that's because they are quite heavy. I spent a bit more on another brand and hope to have better luck.READ THIS !Ok people, the one's who gave this 1 star out of 5 is because of damage I'm guessing. I PLAY PS4! Mic and headphones work together at the same time perfectly! Yes this is for Xbox and PS4 The people who said it's not.... come on give your head a shake man! It comes ( With ) an adapter! 2 way split. You put the red with the red the green with the green... plug it in your controller and your good to go!If I can find somthing bad to say I guess I would like it a bit bit more louder . BUT in a way they are saving my hearing lol it really is loud enough. This was my first headset. I use to use the one ear bluetooth for ps4.. this headset is amazing.. No way would I buy a more expensive one. This rocks, grate produce, grate sound, ( play in a party ) for super clear mic sound. If you have choppy sound it's your connection. Enough said. 5 stars across the board! My 13 year old son bought these with his own money and uses them for playing and watching videos on his laptop. He loves these headphones and says that the sound is exceptional and that the microphone performance is outstanding. The blue lights add the "it factor" to these headphones. The performance far exceeds the price point. Item shipped fast and was professionally packaged. Very impressed and would recommend the product and seller.
