Update 7-26-22 - I ordered this pair of headphones in late September, 2021. They failed on July 19, 2022. The headband cracked on either side, just above the earpiece swivel points. This resulted in the right speaker no longer working. Since they have a 2-year warranty, I contacted EKSA about the issue via email. I have to say that their customer support is among the fastest and most responsive I've ever encountered. The representative that helped me was very friendly and understood the issue clearly. Replies to my emails always came within a few hours. The time from my first contact until I had a replacement pair of headphones in my hand was just 5 days! They didn't even require me to send in the defective pair. This gives me a lot of confidence buying from them because they will absolutely honor their warranty if a product is defective.I'll add that in the 10 months I've been using these headphones, I've not had a single issue other than the eventual right speaker failure and headband crack. The audio quality remained outstanding until the premature unit failure, and the headband adjustment never came loose from where I originally set it. The cable connections on both ends also stayed perfect, even with frequent cable swaps. If they were just a bit more durable, they'd be the perfect headphones. Original review below:I will qualify my remarks by noting that I've never actually experienced a surround sound home theater system, and I've only ever been to a movie theater once in my life, when I was too young to even notice anything special about the sound except that it was loud. My audio experiences have been limited to TV speakers, cheap stereo PC speakers, and stereo headphones and earbuds under $10. I have always loved movies, even if I've never had a chance to experience the audio as it was meant to be. A full surround system is not feasible nor affordable in my situation, so I decided to compromise with these headphones. The packaging is very nice for the price - sturdy and finely printed with logos and specifications. No clamshells to cut open, just secure reusable folds. The headphones and cables came in a very nice fabric bag, with a spring-clamp secured drawstring. All cables and the microphone detach and reattach securely from the left earpiece. The USB cable for full PC features, as well as the 3.5mm stereo cable both attach to the left earpiece by a USB-C connector. The microphone attaches by a 3.5mm audio jack. A 3.5mm splitter cable is included if you need to just use the stereo mic and headphone jacks on your PC instead of a USB port. This level of modularity is excellent, as long as connections do not become unreliable with frequent swapping. The first thing I did when I got these headphones was to plug them into one of my PC's USB ports. Windows had a basic driver already installed for USB headphones, as they worked right away with basic functionality. My next step was to visit the website in the user manual and download the appropriate 7.1 channel surround driver for this model. Their website actually links to and stores the files on Google Documents, where I downloaded a .zip folder with loose files and folders. After extracting the .zip folder, I opened the file named "EKSA Setup", which launched an InstallShield Wizard. The installation was very simple and smooth, but required a computer restart. The driver software is always running as a background process, and when you plug the headphones in via USB cable, a program called "EKSA Gaming Headset" will open, and will close to system tray/notification area as long as the headphones are connected. All the software seems to do is allow you to enable/disable the headphones and microphone, and adjust some volume balance levels for each.Being somewhat of a geek, I wanted to go and explore some of the properties of my new device before diving into a movie or game. It turns out that Windows has a "Speaker Setup" feature accessible by the "Configure" button in the "Playback" tab of the "Sound" window that shows the speaker layout of a selected audio playback device. The function allows you to test each speaker individually, or play a short test routine. It recognized the headphones (labeled as "Speakers, USB Audio Device") as a 7.1 channel layout with front center, front right, front left, side right, side left, rear right, rear left, and subwoofer. Playing the test sounds for each of these confirmed surround sound functionality! For the real test of these headphones, I watched my Blu-ray of Saving Private Ryan. I knew from the previous playback just on my monitor speakers that there would be a lot of subtle sounds I'd be hearing for the first time despite viewing the film over a dozen times across a variety of devices and media. The actual experience blew me away. First off, the bass of the subwoofer adds perhaps the most notable difference vs TV/monitor speakers. I could hear the rumble of distant explosions all throughout the film that I'd never even detected on TV speakers. The rumble of tanks in the final battle scene made me feel like I was truly watching it for the first time. Dialog throughout was clearly defined, even when crowds of people were talking or shouting. The icing on top of this was my first true experience of surround sound audio, with all of the sounds being so accurately detectable in relation to my perspective as the viewer. Oddly enough, the scene that was most notable for me in regard to this was where the letters to families were being typed. As the perspective panned and moved, the clicking of typewriter keys could be clearly followed, and the sound remained crisp with distance. I will probably never listen to movies or shows with multi-channel audio on my TV/monitor speakers again. The headphones themselves feel well-made, and are very light for their capabilities. These headphones weigh about the same as a barebones on-the-ear set you'd pick up in a store for a couple of dollars. The swiveling and flexing at various joints, along with the perfect tension of the steel band makes them feel very natural to put on. There's no perception of reaching a "limit" where they feel like they're going to snap before I get them on my head. While wearing them, the cups completely surround my ears, and are very comfortable. The cups are soft, and the whole set is light enough that the steel band keeps them securely on my head without any uncomfortable pressure. I've used some headphones before that had a vise-like grip on my head, and that will cause a headache after an hour or so. I wore these for the entirety of Saving Private Ryan without any discomfort. I was able to tilt my head back to drink water without the headphones trying to fall off. The ear cups did not cause my ears to sweat any at 84 degrees F.I also tried these headphones out playing Fallout 4 on Steam. I initially could not get them to work with the game. I realized that for some reason, when my PS4 controller was plugged in, it was seen as a USB audio device by Windows and became selected as default whenever the game was running. The only way I could stop this behavior and let the USB headphones become default was to disable the PS4 controller as a USB audio device. This worked, and I was able to play for a few minutes. The surround sound functionality and bass/subwoofer worked just as nicely as during movie playback. Without any quick way to adjust volume through software during gameplay, I tried out the volume wheel on the left earpiece. It rolls smoothly and firmly, providing a fine gradient of volume. The quality does not drop off with volume, as it has on other headphones I've used with volume control. Of note, I discovered that if you unplug the USB headphones while a game (at least Fallout 4) is open, you'll have to restart the game to have any audio. All around, this pair of headphones is one of the best computer accessories I've ever bought and I highly recommend them for PC use. If anything goes unexpectedly wrong, I'll update this review.I have 2 EKSA headsets, one is red and other is black version (both Air Joy Pro). However, sound quality on both headsets are amazing, especially for the price, but somehow, black version sounds bit different than red, I'd say black seems to have little bit better quality in my opinion, but that doesn't mean that red one is bad, both headsets have nice audio quality overall. Also, red and black versions come with different microphones in regards of shape, red one also came with microphone foam cover, but black didn't. Packaging is awesome, these headsets come with pouches, which is a great addition, so it's easy to carry if you're going somewhere. Overall, I like EKSA headsets so much, really, BUT there's one thing I wanna talk about. Yes, it's microphone. Like I said I have two versions, red and black, with different looking microphones, but they both sound probably the same, they pick up voice really well, quality is fine too, but both of them have static noise on the background, that's the only reason why I'm giving 4 stars, these headsets are meant to be mainly for gaming , so microphone can be vital part when you're gaming, therefore quality is very important. I want to buy EKSA StarEngine, but I can't, because I'm afraid it may have the same problem.I bought this because I worked from home and I am on the phone constantly. Unfortunately the mic does not work. I was listening to music on my laptop and decided to try it out. I was surprised of the sound quality. On the highest volume there was no distortion and the bass was superb. Nice and round and deep in you like heavy bass. When fully turned up, there is great clarity in what you hear and not loud enough to damage your ear. The sound is well balanced. I have bought many headphones and this is one of the best I have heard. The fit is so soft and comfortable. I allowed my sister to hear it and never got it back. I am buying another not for work but for listening to music. I think it is that good regardless of price, for listening to music!!!Good headset and works as expected. Hopefully it lasts longer than other brands. They work great. Comes packaged nicely with appropriate cords and a case.Bought these when my other headphones I had broke on the headpiece, great price for these and they work great, will buy again! There’s a lot of background static when audio is being played through the headphones. It doesn’t happen with my other headphones so unknown it’s the headphones and not my USB ports on my computerFirst of all if you're an old school gamer you're gonna love the writing on the side of the packaging, made me chuckle anyway. The headset is beautifully presented and packaged, it comes with all the wires needed, a detachable microphone and a carry bag. The headphones themselves are a good compact and light size, they fold flat and take up very little space. All the controls are over the ear piece and from there you control the volume and the microphone. The headset work with most consoles, pcs, Macs or any device with audio inputs. The sound and microphone are excellent quality both for gaming and general use. I've used them for games and for meetings and the sound quality is crystal clear. The headset is adjustable as is the microphone and it's easy to adjust to your desired position. I'm really impressed with this headset in terms of both its build and sound quality as well as its compact size. Great product. The headset is definitely light as advertised! It's easy to plug in, set up and use, and also comfortable to wear. However, the mic is attached on a very flimsy wire which makes it hard (almost impossible) to position properly, as it won't keep its shape and position for very long at all. At least the mic is clear and doesn't pop or crackle. The Surround Sound works, but the sound is somewhat flat and lacks the depth that other headsets provide - though it must be said that this one is significantly cheaper and lighter than many others, so take your pick. I suggest trying a Surround Sound test video online, so that you can check the sound quality (and appreciate the surround experience if this is your first surround headset). It includes a splitter for PC too, which was a nice touch; so you can use this headset for all your electronic devices! Mediocre performance, but it's okay for the price. The headphones are nice and light to wear and give good sound. However, the microphone is so low in volume, others can hardly hear me.So I contacted support, who suggested I try a few things, none of which worked, so they sent me a complete replacement headset. This microphone did work better on this, but still not brilliant. As I said originally though, the actual headphones are really nice with a good sound. So I've upped the star rating from 3 to 4It's not exactly what you'd call idiot proof to start with. The microphone quality is the worst I've ever experienced with a usb headset. It sounds like I'm talking through a CB radio & when you are streaming that isn't exactly the quality you want. They are comfy & light but the comfort is short lived. After about 30 mins of use my ears were so hot it became almost unbearable. Not exactly great but what do you expect for the price.Headset is super light, lovely design and superb 7.1 sound quality. This is one of the lightest headsets I've ever used. The Eksa design is amazing and all there headsets are well made and come with various wires to connect to console/pc/mac. The speaker wire is detachable and can be easily moved and placed with a simple touch, but the mic quality is not the best and can be a bit quiet, isn't exactly the quality you want.Otherwise good headset, but if you need a decent mic then I'd look elsewhere.
